Survey Plus/Cashier Check/Card Services Survey SCAMS

Survey Plus SCAM: Midland Co-op CU has received information that fraudulent Cashier's Checks for $1,900.00 to $1,990.00 have been mailed to non-members, accompanied by a letter referring to the SurveyPlus "Opinion4Cash" program.

Victims are sent a Cashier's Check drawn on Midland Co-op Credit Union from M & R Surveys or Surveys, Inc., along with a letter asking them to preform a 'test' payment at any "Moneygram" agent. The victim is supposed to cash the check and then take the funds to a Moneygram agent and pretend to send a Moneygram to a fictitious relative in Canada in order to gain an opinion about the service. The victim is to keep $100.00, send a Test Payment amount of $1,700.00 along with the $100.00 service charge fee to send the Moneygram.

Fraudulent Cashier Checks are being used for Purchases/Apartment Deposits
Larger Cashier checks are being mailed to non-members in a hand-written envelope. The Cashiers Check is usually intended for the purchase of merchandise or the Deposit on an apartment. The Cashiers Checks are made for over the amount in hopes that the receiver will cash and return funds to the remitter. There may be some contact by email from the SCAMMER.
The Cashier checks are Fraudulent and should not be cashed or deposited.

The Midland Co-op CU Cashier's Check is Fraudulent and should not be deposited or cashed!

What to do:
If you have recieved one of these letters and feel you may be a victim of fraud, contact the authorities immediately. In addition, please send the original check along with the correspondence recieved to:

CARD SERVICES SURVEY for Cardholders
Scammers are using authentic logos of Card Services for Credit Unions to create and email surveys to CU Cardholders. These surveys are a means to gather pertinent and private information about the cardholder. It promises that if the cardholder completes the survey they will be eligible to win $50.00. Information should not be shared with the email.

Card Services for Credit Unions never communicates directly with cardholders. Rather, they communicate only with their member Credit Unions.
